REVOLUTIONARY LOVE

ine Black Woman...Her Love is revolutionary.
Tt'll move mountains to get to its destination.
It permeated the universe and the most dis-
tant parts of the earth before galaxies and
man existed.
During chattel slavery, it was the Revolution-
ary Love of the Black woman that gave the
Black man the necessary courage, strength, for-
titude and Power to rise up and confront qur
captors.
It was Rosa Parks' Revolutionary Love for
her people and for freedom, justice and equality
which jump-started the Civil Rights movement
back in 1955, leading to the abolition of legal
segregation.
It was the Revolutionary Love and militancy of
Black women like Assata Shakur, Angela Davis,
Elaine Brown, Ericka Huggins, Kathleen Cleaver
and others, which inspired Black men and women
nationwide to stand up with our clinched fists
raised in the air while screaming "All Power
To The People!"
It was the Revolutionary Love of Minnie Man-
dela, Betty Shabazz and Michelle 0'Bama which
emboldened their husbands- Nelson, Malcolm
(E1 Hajj) and Barack- to rise up against un-
speakable odds to take their rightful place
in the world while making history in the process.
Even when us Black men rejected, abandoned
and disowned our Black women by running off to
seek and find pleasure in some other "exotic'
female, there stood our loyal Black women,
waiting patiently, with their arms outstretch-
ed, for us to return home to them like the pro-
digal son, in our shame and disgrace to feed
at the bosom of their forgiving, unconditional
and life-sustaining Love.
Before we came out of Her womb.we experienced
the Revolutionary Life, Spirit and Enmergy of
a Black Woman's Love.
Before we learned to walk, talk and reason
we knew, felt and understood a Black woman's

Love.

When we were in a sickly state, it was the
natural healing Power of a Black woman's Love

and touch which nursed us back to full health.
When we had not even a loaf of bread to eat, it

was the fullness of a Black woman's Love
iwhich quinched our hunger pains, enabling us

to survive the night.
Beside, behind and in front of every Black man

and child is the unceasing, unbendending and
uncompromising Love of a Black woman.

Her Love is sweeter than honey and DEEPER
than the deepest ocean.

It's spiritual, yet SOLID.
1t'11 knock you down to the ground if you con-

sume too much of it at one time...straight
with no chaser.

It's funkier than funk. Fresher than fresh.
Cooler tham cool. Hipper than hip.

It's more Ancient and enduring than anything
known to man,

It's the Life Force flowing through and re-
flected in everything in existence.

I'm talking about the Revolutionary Love of
our New Afrikan (Black) sisters!!!
